Element Metal Finishes color oxidizers instantly oxidizes metal upon contact giving you the color finish of choice. Element Metal Finishes offers 8 color oxidizers; Copper Plate, Rainbow Torch, Gun Metal Blue, Dark Pewter, Light Pewter, Midnight Black, Antique Red Brown, and Brown Tarnish.


Surface Preparation: Steel must be completely clean and dry, free of all loose particles, dirt debris and other contaminants that could inhibit oxidizing effect.

 

Coverage: Up to 250 sq ft./gallon. Coverage will vary depending on the application technique and the reapplication cycles of the color oxidizer applied. The above coverage rates are estimates and will vary.

 

Extra:  Rainbow Torch is only used with Copper Plate. After rinsing the copper plate with water while steel is wet, spray steel with Rainbow Torch until color is acquired, rinse, spray rust arrest, rinse, dry, seal.


Copper Plate with Dark or Light Pewter will produce a bronze color. After rinsing the copper plate with water while steel is wet spray steel with Dark or Light Pewter until color is acquired, rinse, spray rust arrest, rinse, dry, seal. For different shades of bronze, the order of steps could be reversed and first apply Dark or Light Pewter followed by Copper Plate.


Brown Tarnish only works on real copper, brass, or bronze. Variables in final color are dependent on humidity, exposure time, and metal surface Recommend to test the color oxidizer on small surface before application.

 

Storage: Store product in cool area and not in direct sunlight. When properly sealed and stored, the shelf life is up to 1 year.

 

Packaging: Is available in 1 gallon, 32 oz and 8 oz.

 

 

 

Copper Plate

  • 1. Clean the steel. (Sandblast or grind) 

    2. Immerse or spray the steel with the Copper Plate. 

    3. Rinse steel w/ water. 

    4. While steel is wet, spray steel with Rainbow Torch solution until torched appearance is acquired.  

    5. Rinse steel with water. 

    6. While steel is wet, spray on Rust Arrest and let it work for at least 15 seconds.  7. Rinse steel with water. 

    8. Immediately, dry steel with compressed air. 

    9. Seal with Element Metal Finishes Matte or Gloss Acrylic Sealer
